Our Story

The question we get asked the most often is, “How did you come up with Firefly Atelier? How does that relate to hair?” Well, let me share our story.

Bonnie, the original owner of Firefly Atelier had a strong educational background in Sassoon and she loved to share her knowledge. One of Vidal Sassoon’s first haircuts was called “The Firefly”. So of course Firefly made sense. However, Bonnie was looking for a word other than salon to pair with Firefly. Atelier is a beautiful French word for workshop or studio, frequently used by an artist or designer, so basically an artist’s workshop. Voila, Firefly Atelier was born! The next question we hear is, how is Atelier pronounced? Well, in English it is, uh teh lee ay. No matter how you pronounce our salon name we are happy that you choose Firefly Atelier to call your home salon. Come Glow with us ✨
